How to read a block explorer when an order looks stuck

Basics

When an order sits on waiting longer than you expected, a block explorer answers the question faster than any support channel.

What to look at

  1. Does the transaction exist? Paste the id from your wallet. If the explorer has never heard of it, the transaction was not broadcast and nothing was sent.
  2. How many confirmations? Zero means it is in the queue. The exchange cannot act on an unconfirmed deposit, no matter how long it has been there.
  3. What fee did it pay? If it is well below current rates, it may sit for hours. Some wallets offer replace by fee, which lets you resend the same transaction with a higher fee.

What it usually means

An unconfirmed deposit is a sending chain problem, not an exchange problem. A confirmed deposit against an order that has not moved is worth asking about, with the transaction id in hand.

Every order page at Swap Heaven carries the transaction ids for both legs, which is what you paste into the explorer.
